A Synopsis of Hosea
The prophet Hosea ministered God's Word to the northern kingdom of Israel during the final hours before she was destroyed by Assyria. His own personal tragedy in dealing with his unfaithful wife, Gomer, served as a real life object lesson of the unconditional, sacrificial, everlasting love of God toward His unfaithful wife, Israel. Because of her spiritual adultery, Israel had to be judged by being taken from the unrelenting love for them. The epic love story of Hosea and Gomer is a profound picture of the gospel; how God in Christ demonstrated His steadfast, even scandalous love for wayward sinners by being willing to endure the discrace and heartbreak of selflessly laying aside His glory in heaven and humbly coming to earth and dying on a cross to redeem us.
THREE practical applications from the Book of Hosea:
1. If you are not a Christian, become one.
2. If you are a Christian, stay devoted to Christ.
3. If you are married, stay married.

Praise and thank God that His love never fails, never gives up, and never runs out on you. Ask Him to help you love others, especially your spouse, like He loves you.
