Summer Equipping Series
Every Sunday until September 5, 2021
9:00am – 10:00am
Our culture is in the midst of a massive upheaval as a result of the recent public outcry for justice which has completely infiltrated every area of our society including the news, politics, business, education, entertainment, sports, and social media. Systemic racism, critical race theory, gender equality, intersectionality, cancel culture, and wokeness are all “new” terms that are creating tension and division in national, state, and local governments, workplaces, elementary schools to universities, neighborhoods, and even churches. Sadly, many well-meaning Christians have gotten caught up in the social justice movement because on the surface it appears to be opposed to racism and partiality and concerned about the oppressed and marginalized. However, despite these apparent commonalities with Christianity, the foundations and solutions of social justice are totally incompatible with the truths of God’s Word. The goal of this Summer Equipping Series is to help Christians understand the present cultural phenomenon from a biblical perspective and learn how to lovingly and winsomely engage people with the only true hope for forgiveness, reconciliation, peace, and unity found in the gospel of Jesus Christ (cf. 2 Cor. 5:18-20).
