2 Corinthians 8-9
Giving back to the Lord a portion of what He blesses us with is an important part of the weekly worship of the church. But rather than being overly concerned with how much we give, God's Word focuses more on the manner in which we give. In these two chapters, Paul listed TWELVE PRINCIPLES for biblical giving that will instruct and inspire us to be generous, joyful, sacrificial givers.
1. GIVE REGULARLY (1 Corinthians 16:1-2)
2. GIVE GENEROUSLY (2 Corinthians 8:1-2)
3. GIVE SACRIFICIALLY (2 Corinthians 8:3a)
4. GIVE VOLUNTARILY (2 Corinthians 8:3b-4)
5. GIVE SEQUENTIALLY (2 Corinthians 8:5)
6. GIVE SINCERELY (2 Corinthians 8:6-9)
7. GIVE PROPORTIONATELY (2 Corinthians 8:10-15)
8. GIVE BOUNTIFULLY (2 Corinthians 9:5-6)
9. GIVE PURPOSELY (2 Corinthians 9:7a)
10. GIVE CHEERFULLY (2 Corinthians 9:7b)
11. GIVE CONFIDENTLY (2 Corinthians 9:8)
12. GIVE THANKFULLY (2 Corinthians 9:10-15)
Thank God for His indescribable gift in not sparing His own Son to deliever you from your sin. Ask God that Christ's sacrifice on the cross would motivate you to be a more generous, joyful, sacrificial giver. Plead with God to bless the members of our church with the financial means to finish out our new education/activity center as soon as possible. Prayerfully consider what amount you can contribute above and beyond your normal, weekly giving.
