The Lord reveals the meaning of His name more deeply and immediately through redeeming a people for Himself, and this He does most fully through the incarnation, death, burial, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.
1. The Context of Redemption (The Exodus)
2. The Divine Name more Fully Known through Redemption - “I AM who I am or I will be Who I will be” (Exodus 3:14; 6:2-8)
3. The Divine Name more fully known through Sin and Grace (Exodus 32; 33:19; 34:6-7)
4. The Divine name Most fully Know through Jesus (John 1:1; 14-18)
“Adam and Eve dwelt in the presence of God in the Garden; God comes to dwell in the midst of His people in the tabernacle and Temple through the Exodus, and Jesus became a man and tabernacled among us, so that by faith in Him He might dwell in us now by the Spirit of God and that we might dwell with Him in the New Jerusalem for all eternity!”
