Esther 6

The book of Esther illustrates that God is never early or ever late, but always right on time. If you tend to question God’s timing in your life, the FOUR EXAMPLES of His perfect timing in Esther 6 will encourage you to patiently wait upon Him.

1. THE TIMING OF AHASUERUS’ INSOMNIA (vv. 1-3)
While Haman was building the gallows intended for Mordecai, the King was lying awake with insomnia. Rather than indulging in entertainment, King Ahasuerus chose to have the King’s records read. By God’s providence, the records that were read included an account of how Mordecai had once saved the King’s life by foiling an assassination attempt. After hearing this, the King realized that Mordecai had never been honored for this deed.

2. THE TIMING OF HAMAN’S VISIT (vv. 4-9)
By God’s providence, Haman’s visit coincided with the day of the King’s decision to honor the man who had once saved his life. This was the same day that Haman was busy devising the means by which he intended to kill Mordecai the Jew, who he despised.

3. THE TIMING OF MORDECAI’S REWARD (vv. 10-13)
Ironically, the day that Haman had intended to Kill Mordecai was the same day that he was forced to announce a day of honor for Mordecai by decree of the King.

4. THE TIMING OF ESTHER’S BANQUET (v. 14)
The Banquet that Esther had prepared for the King gave her the opportunity to expose Haman as the one who was planning to kill Mordecai and all of the Jews. Once exposed, Haman was taken away as the King sentenced Haman to the same fate that he had intended for Mordecai just one day before.

Thank God that His timing is always perfect when it comes to working out His sovereign purposes for your life. Ask Him to grant you grace to patiently wait on Him in the midst of His providential delays and use those waiting periods to grow and mature you and fill up where you are lacking in your faith.
