Unity Through Humility

December 11, 2016 Speaker: Ken Ramey Series: Philippians

Topic: Unity Passage: Philippians 2:1–4

Philippians 2:1-4

We all know there is no such thing as a perfect church but that doesn’t stop us from trying to find one. Even if we were able to find a perfect church, it would no longer be perfect after we joined it. The reason there are no perfect churches is because there are no perfect people and churches are made up of people. We are all by nature selfish and prideful and that is what causes strife between us. Can you imagine what it would be like to be a part of a church where everyone treated each other as more important than themselves and cared about everyone else’s interests more than their own and never insisted on getting their own way but were committed to making sure others got to do or have what they wanted? That’s exactly how Paul challenged the believers in Philippi to think and act toward each other. In today’s text, Paul explained the THREE ELEMENTS of unity every church must understand and practice in order to experience the kind of unity that brings joy and honor to Christ.
