A Mission Of Compassion
Matthew 9:35-10:5
THEME: One of the reasons, if not the main reason, entire churches and individual Christians often fail in fulfilling the Great Commission is we do not share God's heart for the lost. The Great Commission is based on and motivated by God's great compassion. It has been said if you want to know what God is like look at Jesus. Here in this passage, we see Jesus' great compassion for the lost. In fact, you could call this passage "The Great Compassion." This is when Jesus gave the first orders to His disciples to join Him in the mission to seek and save the lost. Up until this point, the disciples had just been spectators; they were following Jesus around and watching Him work. In order to motivate them to come and work alongside Him in harvesting souls, He shared with them His passion for the lost and His plan to reach the lost.
1. JESUS' PASSION TO REACH THE LOST (vv. 35-38)
2. JESUS' PLAN TO REACH THE LOST (vv. 1-5)
Thank God for saving you and including you in His plan to seek and save other lost people. Ask Him to provide you daily opportunities to share Christ with others who so desperately need Him. Ask Him to bless our labors at Lakeside by providing a great harvest of souls in our community.
