Sharing Christ In A Christ-Like Way

2 Timothy 2:23-26

THEME: The challenge we face as Christians is what we believe and how we live our lives are diametrically opposed to what the rest of the world believes and how they live their lives. That's why we typically face opposition when we share the gospel with unbelievers because we are essentially confronting and correcting their wrong thinking and wrong living. What's more, we face spiritual opposition from Satan, who does whatever he can to not lose anyone he has ensnared and enslaved to serve him and to spend eternity with him in hell. As ambasadors of Christ, we have our work cut out for us, and if we are to be faithful to and successful in our mission to tell others about Christ, we must have the attitude of Christ. In this passage, Paul explained FOUR APPROACHES to confronting and correcting others with the truth that will prove most effective in helping them escape from the satanic snare of wrong thinking and wrong living.

1. Refuse to discuss silly, speculative subjects (v. 23)

2. Represent the Lord Jesus Christ (vv. 24-25a)

3. Rely on God and His Word (v. 25b)

4. Remember the ultimated objective (v. 26)

Thank God for graciously granting you repentance and leading you to the knowledge of the truth and delivering you from the domination of Satan. Ask Him to use you to help others come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil so they can be free to do God's will rather than his.
