Identity Crisis: Remembering Who We Are In Christ

November 17, 2019 Speaker: Ken Ramey Series: Stand Alone Sermons

Topic: Sanctification Passage: Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13–15

If the most important question in the world is “Who is God?” then the second most important question is “Who am I?” The first word or two that comes into our minds when asked that question reveals a lot about how we view ourselves. And how we view ourselves impacts everything in our lives. Throughout the course of our lives, we are all building and maintaining an identity—a way we think about ourselves or how we want others to think about us. We all have a tendency to allow ourselves to be defined by what others think of us, by the neighborhood we live in, by the size of our house, by the car we drive, by the clothes we wear, by our bank account, by our appearance, by our achievements, by our successes and failures, etc.  That’s why we must always remember who we are in Christ. Everywhere in the Bible, God tells us over and over again what He thinks of us as a result of our union with Christ. There are SIX TRUTHS that help us recognize and recover our true identity in Christ.
