Topic: Love Passage: 1 Corinthians 13:4–7
"Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant.." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Throughout the New Testament, Christians are exhorted to love one another. Love is not something we feel but rather something we do or don’t do. In this classic description of love that Paul gave to the church in Corinth, we see more than just a list of adjectives that describe the nature of true love. We see FIFTEEN ACTIONS that demonstrate true love. In other words, if you truly love someone, this is how you will act toward them (i.e. spouse, family member, neighbor, fellow believer, etc).
1. ACT PATIENTLY
2. ACT KINDLY
3. DON’T ACT JEALOUSLY
4. DON’T ACT BOASTFULLY
5. DON’T ACT ARROGANTLY
6. DON’T ACT RUDELY
7. DON’T ACT SELFISHLY
8. DON’T ACT IRRITABLY
9. DON’T ACT RESENTFULLY
10. DON’T ACT JOYFULLY ABOUT SIN
11. ACT JOYFULLY ABOUT THE TRUTH
12. ACT SYMPATHETICALLY
13. ACT LOYALLY
