Living Sacrifices

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2

This is one of the clearest, boldest calls to commitment in the entire Bible. It is an urgent plea, in light of God’s glorious gospel, to sacrifice everything, surrender everything, and dedicate everything to God. And this earnest appeal to give up everything for the sake of the gospel doesn’t just apply to missionaries and pastors; it applies to every Christian. God wants all of us to commit our entire lives to Him, or as Paul says, to be “living sacrifices.” In Romans 12:1-2, there are FOUR PHASES involved in becoming a living sacrifice who is completely and continually consecrated to God out of gratitude for the gospel.
