"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God... just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved." 1 Corinthians 10:31-33
The vision for Contact Sports is to help equip and enable the members at Lakeside to make contact with people in the community for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
VOLLEYBALL: Jan. 16th - May 15th
Every Monday night, Lakeside opens its gym doors at 6:00pm for volleyball. High school students and up are welcome to come and play each week. Each week, we pray before we play, we have a brief time in God's Word during halftime, and build relationships with the players so we might share the hope of the gospel with them.
SOCCER: Feb. 21th - May 16th
Come play weekly pick-up games on Tuesday nights at our new LBC soccer field! Lights, seating, water, netting, goals, corner flags and all!
From 6:00-7:00pm, we welcome all 3rd-5thth grade boys and girls to come for some basic skill development and fun interactive scrimmages with seasoned and experienced coaches and former college players. From 7:00-8:00pm, we transition to our middle school time open to 6th-8th grade bodys and girls. From 8:00-9:30pm, anyone high school and older is welcome to come play in friendly, coed soccer matches under the lights.
Since our desire is to treat the soccer field like the mission field, we spend a few minutes at our halftime breaks to talk about eternal life in Jesus Christ. How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news” (Romans 10:15)!
PICKLEBALL: Jan. 10th - May 16th
Join us Tuesday nights for Pickleball in our Activity Center at 6:00pm. Our aim is to use the fast-growing recreational sport of pickleball across our three indoor courts to create a relational context where Christ and His gospel can be seen and heard.
Basketball: Jan. 12th - May 18th
Come out and play some open gym basketball now on Thursday nights at 6:30! Whether we are running full-court or half-court, the Lakeside gym is a great place to compete, exercise, connect with our community. Our greatest desire is to use basketball as a means to share the love and truth of Christ on the court side, at halftime, and before and after games.
If there is any way we can help you more effectively make contact with our community through sports, please contact Kyle Jenison at email@example.com or call the church office.
